Deep beneath the overgrown ruins lies a forgotten vault, sealed away and slowly reclaimed by nature.
Lost Vault is a stylized environment project where I wanted to mix mysterious ancient architecture with a lush, slightly otherworldly atmosphere. The main goal was to create a cave that feels abandoned but still alive, with massive roots breaking through the ruins, vegetation creeping across the stone, and small traces of a civilization that once occupied the area.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with composition, lighting, foliage placement, modular architecture, and environmental storytelling, especially when trying to balance the colder stone environment with the warm golden details of the vault structures.
The environment and assets were created using Blender, textured with Substance Painter, and assembled, lit, and rendered in Unreal Engine.
This project was also a great opportunity to push my stylized workflow further, from creating rock formations and vegetation to designing the architectural pieces and bringing everything together into one cohesive environment.
Hope you enjoy exploring the Lost Vault!
