Greetings! This post dives into the intricacies of the tilable materials employed in my mini project, the Alien Planet. To achieve a stylized rather than realistic aesthetic, I opted for vibrant colors, predominantly shades of blue, to create a visually appealing and stylized terrain. Utilizing Substance Designer, I crafted five distinct materials:
1) Alien Dirt: A blueish dirt material featuring scattered rock fragments, serving as the primary layer for the terrain.
2) Alien Craters: A collection of oddly shaped and small craters with a hard and tough appearance.
3) Alien Cliff: A rocky material suitable for cliffs or low-sloped hills, particularly well-suited for triplanar projection.
4) Alien Sand: A sandy alien material characterized by unknown properties and a distinctive color.
5) Alien Cracked Ground: Very old and dry grounds exhibiting high degrees of cracking and soil damage, with a distinctly blue hue.
The amalgamation of these materials results in a convincingly alien environment. To provide a sense of scale, I've included images of the materials alongside a character reference.
Soon, these materials will be available for purchase on my store. Stay tuned for updates and the opportunity to incorporate these unique materials into your projects.
