This is a personal project of mine, a stylized forest environment created in Unreal Engine 5. The environment is based on real-life references, featuring pine trees, birch trees, oak trees, grass, mushrooms, and bushes. I utilized Unreal Engine 5's real-time global illumination called Lumen to create a realistic lighting setup and added some wind animation to give the environment an extra level of immersion.
To showcase my skills as an environment artist, I also created a cinematic video consisting of several clips of the environment from different angles and perspectives. At the end of the project, I showcase the environment props and foliage that I created from scratch and used in my scene.
All of the trees in the environment were created using a program called "Tree It", while the rocks and other types of foliage were modeled in Blender. The landscape textures were made in Substance Designer, and the prop textures were also made using Substance Designer.
It's important to note that this project only showcases the environment. I have two more posts planned for this project - one will include animals that are related to this environment, and the next one will include some camping props that are laid out in the environment.
As an experienced 3D artist, I always strive for realism and attention to detail in my work. I utilized my knowledge of Unreal Engine 5 and environment art techniques to create an immersive forest environment that I'm proud to share with the world.
