Amber Tree was a fun little speed project that came together over 3 days. I wanted to create a cozy fantasy scene with an ancient tree wrapped around a weathered rock, surrounded by warm autumn colors and a touch of magic.
The tree and rocks were sculpted from scratch in Blender, and I spent some extra time adding hand-painted, painterly details across the assets to give everything a softer, more stylized look.
I also added a small hanging charm beneath one of the branches because the scene felt like it needed a little personality. It's a tiny detail, but I think it adds a bit of whimsy and makes the tree feel like it's been standing there for centuries, collecting little offerings and stories along the way.
For the glowing amber halo behind the tree, I borrowed a few VFX textures to build the portal effect. It was a quick and fun way to add a magical focal point without reinventing the wheel.
Everything was created in Blender and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.
Hope you like it!
